300 West 18th Street, New York City – 2007

LOCATED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF CHELSEA IN NEW YORK CITY, THIS BUILDING COMBINES COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS. THE DESIGN INTENT WAS FOR THE BUILDING TO ABSORBS THE CHARACTER OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD, AND REACT TO IT IN A CONTEMPORARY MANNER:

ITS 6 STORIES – THE DOMINATING HEIGHT OF THE SURROUNDINGS – ARE CLADDED WITH RESIN PANELS THAT MATCH THE COLORS OF THE LOCAL BRICK. THE PANEL WALL IS A “RAIN SCREEN”, AN ADDITIONAL LAYER OF INSULATION MADE OF RECYCLABLE MATERIALS.
